Leadership is important for special education teachers. Teachers assume a variety of leadership roles including working with the professionals who support students (e.g., teaching assistants, related service providers), fellow teachers, school administrators, and parents. The EC Collaboratory Leadership training includes five components of leadership that are important for special education teacher leaders: Accessing the General Curriculum (1 hour), Creating Common Vision through Implementation Science (40 min), Facilitating Individual Goal Setting (1 hour), Practicing the Least Dangerous Assumption and Presuming Competence (30 min), and Supporting Professional Learning Communities (PLCs; 30 min).
